Surviving Minnesota!

I am alive but not in great shape. I ended up with some kind of gut infection. The surgery is iffy for Thursday now.

Great weight loss diet though I lost 15 pounds in last four days:thumbsup

Getting old is not half the fun EJB claimed it was...

Layers a 4 year old hen getting reserve is pretty darn good! Grats.

Destiny good luck on getting the mink. My critter has not been back. :fl..
I'll burn up the hot line to Jesus for ya to get better soon! Missing your antics around here.

Thanks everyone!
That really sucks Destiny hope you can get them.
Hopefully you start feeling better Ralphie.

Camping at Fort Lincoln until Tuesday. My grandparents are taking care of everything until then. Usually when I come back everything is nicer then I left it.
I have to sign up for the 4H side of state fair when I get home. It's really confusing since it doesn't really specify if you are entering in the 4H, open, or FFA on the online version. So I'll call in and ask to see what I have to do.

Morning all,

I am still above ground level today, Pretty excited about that.

I went outside for a little yesterday, Hopefully more today. I am falling behind schedule fast. I should have birds in cages and be bathing them and doing foot soaks. I might miss the fairs this year. Unless can convince Judy to give my birds baths and foot massages...

Hey Ralphie. Where is your gif? It seems a perfect time to use it... just kidding . I am jealous of your weight loss but must admit I remember quite well my case of Montezuma's Revenge after my return from Mexico two winters ago. Fever , chills, and living the glamorous life in the bathroom was not ideal weight loss program.

Jerry to ask for spring, summer and fall in northern Minnesota is not too much to ask for imho. Have the grand babies ready for timely visits as well.

Little cockerel calls coming from one of the black Ameraucanas. So so cute.

Cleaned the founts this Am as they are starting to grow their green fuzz on the insides.

Visited the folks last night. Dad's rose garden is beautiful. He knows how to grow them. Also he shared a bag of chicken poop with his neighbor and ran out spreading some in his garden. He showed me the potato rows with poop and those without. Haha. Amazing difference! I told him I had more but he's not able to till it in now so he was disinterested. Played some guitar with him. Then went and picked up DS who had an 11 hour day at the resort. Big weekend!

Ah yes the big weekend . Glad to miss it . I travel on weekdays to avoid those who must travel on weekends . I stay off the lake and out of town . Let them have their fun . I am retired so no need for me to get in the way . Next trip will likely be a 4 week stay .

You should make sure you stay beyond the Amish Auction near Wadena.. They have interesting things there.

I need to plant a potato plant next year, to justify the great purchase I made the last sale... I am hearing a lot of " Well, is that "darn" thing going to sit there like that forever?' I figure if I plant a potato and use it to dig the potatoes there can be no more complaining.

I went out and was going "fix" my Mom's car for her while she is in Alaska, but found myself to fatigued to actually do it. I was going to clean pens and move the lucky birds inside also, but again fatigue stopped that...And a female voice saying " You're sick, you have surgery in 3 days. are you nuts, get your donkey in the house and do nothing'.....

I wonder how men without wives survive?

Ok here is a story for you . Mom a few years after dad passed got her a friend / companion . So one summer they were at the lake . Mom intended to stay all summer . Well one of those cold rainy June spells set in . Bob complained and wined and wanted to go home . Mom took him home and went right back to the lake for the summer . Bob was left wondering about his relationship status all summer . Needless to say Bob never complained much while at the lake from then on .:lau
Gee you see where some of my determination comes from .

Thank goodness for Judy.

You men are so stubborn! My D H got knocked in the head by an iron beam Thursday at work. Finished the day and went back to work the next day. He probably had a concussion! I wanted him to stay home but he wouldn't.

Mine is a whiner.

Can a person trade up?

Plucked some oyster mushrooms off a maple stump today. Right outside my office. 2 1/2 more hours until butter and garlic salt transform it magically and it's in my belly..,
