Surviving Minnesota!

We are getting some rain right now. Light, but I hope it keeps up! My garden needs it. Sprinkler water keeps it alive, but not growing. My tomato plants have not grown, nor my other plants except for my summer squash, zucchini...

Anybody doing anything special for the Great American solar eclipse August 21st? We are a little north of it for full moon shadow effects. But a good swath through missouri, southern Illinois will be in the direct path. Such a fascinating phenomenon.

Egg customer asking me for eggs today but I have 2 1/2 doz in fridge and zero laid yesterday. I did not sell her any. I know I will be without soon. July egglessness is typical.

Morning all, ended the night with just under half an inch, I was hoping for more, but I'll take it!:wee

Layers did they get that fire out? I'm so worried for all the cattle out there :hit
This month we haven't had a single drop. Fire still isn't out, ive heard its grown to over 5000 acres but not sure. Its on the edge of the badlands so its really hard trying to put it out

BC...my other home, in Ste. Genevieve MO, is in the direct path of the eclipse. Having a ton of, mostly family, come down to watch it. Ste. Genevieve is a cute little historic village about 50 miles south of St. Louis. I'm from St. Louis & my family is still there. Ste. Gen has lots of wineries, B&B's, cute shops & great architecture. All hotels & B&B's have been booked for almost 2 years. Our little town is running shuttle buses to observation sites for the day trippers. Quite the big deal in Ste. Gen!! My house is is about 4 blocks from town. Over looking the Mississippi river. It's a flat delta, great spot to observe the eclipse! So my question is...any thoughts of what to feed these folks? I'm assuming all the restaurants in town will be overwhelmed. Been trying to figure out what would be easy make ahead stuff so I'm not messing too much with food day of eclipse. Open to any thoughts!!

And, just for reference I'm not used to feeding a bunch of people. All holiday events take place in St. Louis & I usually just show up & eat. The one true benefit of living away from the family!!
