Ditto that. I'm tired of the hatchery stock EEs with endless lists of temperament and structure issues so common on hatchery birds. One day I'm going to get some real Ameraucanas.... One day... lol
EEs have issues lol. I have lots of egg issues with mine... Always laying no shell or soft shells... Only the EEs have that issue... Plus after seeing Minnies Black Ameraucanas I decided I needed some...Ditto that. Their laying issues seem to have passed on to the EE crossbreds I have. I'm finding one soft shell blue egg almost every day and there's only two or three blue egg laying birds. Pretty bad, eh?EEs have issues lol. I have lots of egg issues with mine... Always laying no shell or soft shells... Only the EEs have that issue... I'm spoiled now, with my fancy bred heritage birds. I'm looking at my hatchery stock and thinking "Why am I keeping these things again?"I absolutely hate my EEs! When they finally lay eggs for the few months a year they all lay, every single day. But the rest of the year not a single egg. And they always are the first to start hiding eggs! Although I do have one white one I absolutely love I am sticking with leghorns and sexlinks now, they like to lay in the coop and they lay all year.
Up to 4 cochin eggs now. Not to bad for the 3 females in 2 days.

I love my cochins. I always think why not ditch the layers and just have cochins. To bad that is not realisticI'm spoiled now, with my fancy bred heritage birds. I'm looking at my hatchery stock and thinking "Why am I keeping these things again?"
They're just so much better than hatchery birds in every way.
