Surviving Minnesota!

Ralphie I was getting worried you were back in the fancy striped gown that has air conditioning in the back side as well. Glad you are not and sorry to hear that the sasquatches will not be kicked out of the Togo and still squatting in your cabin.

Visited with Dad today. Two hours down, two hour visit, two hours back north. He is ornery as manure. Nothing I said was right or was met with a sarcastic response. He has pain. Didn't sleep well. He's got his uncoordinated symptoms back. I'm sure is post op swelling. But I think that has him scared.
We drove straight back to mom and dads. DS jumped on the JD utility tractor and mowed lawn for grandma and I began to clean out his unattached garage. What a mess he had. I suppose he couldn't do stuff for a bit. But hope it will be a nice surprise when he gets home.
Messy Marvin!
Now I should do mine!
I'm tired but have this weird burning fumes energy thing going on... idk. I think I'll make some soap. Got orders.

Rhett's I am feeding hummingbirds like crazy this summer too. A female and her young ones I'm guessing. Little boys have orange throats...? I also have bee balm in the flower garden that they love. So glad I've planted that. Which reminds me I should renew their sugar water. I'm sure it's like wine out there.

Made two batches of soap last night. Mint & rosemary with charcoal stripes. And an autumn colored one with an apple pie smell to it. Night before was lavender and a batch special with wild rice. It's a fun diversion.

Cockerel club is still entertaining us -really crowing lately. Sparky (gold shoulders) grabbed My NH pullet, Sunny Two this morning. She was screaming at him. Patsy gave me an egg yesterday. Bless her heart. Life in the chicken world rolls on.

DH 's good pal texted me yesterday after checking deer stands. He said lots of mushrooms every where.

Morning . 4 cockerels went to camp yesterday . Deboned into chunks / nuggets . These were early May hatches so past fryer stage . Nuggets work best for Janet to eat . Seems more tender this way . She complains they are tough as fryers . Used to store bought tender . I prefer home grown . Less fat and more flavor to my taste .

Oh Monday. This week will be my busiest yet. Looking forward to next Monday when my life should settle in some. DH family coming from out of town for the Labor Day weekend. All of his siblings and families will be together which when one of twelve can be challenging most times. We of course are hosting one of the out of town families for the weekend. That leaves me deep cleaning everything. Of course they like a farm tour so I need to clean up the yard, barns and coops too besides the house. I swear there is just not enough time in the day to get it all done. And I needed to tend to some veggies that were coming in before we got swamped again. But not any time to sit for a day dealing with the garden veggies. Hope they can hold for a few more days.

Did I mention my beets are floating AGAIN. Will have to pump out the water from the garden again. *SIGH* I almost-almost am ready to yell I QUIT! But will keep trudging on till first frost which looks like it could be sooner rather than later.

Bogtown-still thinking of you and yours. Keeping you in prayers. :hugs Your soaps sound amazing!! Anyone invent the smellevision yet for PCs? Those scents you describe sound so good!

I saw a doe and fawn today in the woods and her tawny color had a big circle of Winter grey/brown on her back. I wonder if the hair does that after a good cool down. It does get down there. I heard 40's for us last weekend for lows. But I believe the frost over there in GR.
