Surviving Minnesota!

Still can't eat the flowers..unless they are sunflowers.....

BTW an interesting (maybe side note).... My beans have not given me any beans all summer until the last 2 weeks...

now I am beaned out from eating beans every day.

The deer are still taking more than their share though...
Actually Nasturtiums are wonderful in salads. They have a slightly spicy flavor and the flowers and leaves are edible. There are many edible flowers. Honest

Got back from Aitkin about 3:30. Emptied out the trunk of the car vacuumed it. Put everything away. Went to the store to pick up a few items. I hear Abbey, our black lab in the back yard so the DH just got home. Chili for dinner tonight. Caught up on reading. More from you tomorrow? Oh! And great meeting on Friday! Many topics besides chickens and mushrooms discussed depending on where you were sitting at the table. Genealogy was another subject.

Hey chickeners . . . . have you ever had a chicken with hiccups? One of my SS is kind of isolating herself, she has a full crop and she is hiccuping in a strange way. Odd?
Hiccups? Is it a high pitched, short sound that sounds like a squeaky toy cut off halfway through?
