Surviving Minnesota!

for sale:

One entire flock of around 125 birds or so..... They are well trained and hardly any bother... It takes about 100# of feed a day and 3 hours to do the chores needed for them.

This is a rewarding flock, today I was rewarded with 5 eggs, 2 Dom Pullet eggs, 1 toad pullet egg, an older toad egg and a blue egg....

I thought the other day I needed to sell my eggs at $32 a dozen to break even. I have revised that number to $46 dollars a dozen.

Please PM me if interested in this rewarding and challenging flock...

Ralphie! I will gladly use my marketing ability to sell such high quality egg layers! And all it requires is a small percentage of all bird income! Feel free to not read the fine print and we can get to work!

(98% of each birds profit seems fair to me)

Anybody as absentminded as me lately and have to go out and dig up the last of the carrots tonight wearing a headlamp before the big freeze?

Oh I suppose you can’t have Mikes. You’ll have just go with peaches in the blender.

Cluckies I bet those carrots are super sweet!

Feeling accomplished. Cleaned out my side of garage. Will get DH’s tomorrow. Shtuff is heading to the garbage man! So bad... it’s almost stupid. Stuff we haven’t touched for years. Buh-bye.
Doing some Swedish death cleaning!

 Hehe
I have horses too so don't even want those buggers crapping on my hay. We had a huge problem with them about 5 years ago....then we had a surge in bald eagles around here.

New incubator is humming away. Not so sure I love that alarm that is super loud that sounds off every hour while it is turning eggs. The lovely humidity bucket system is leaking and I have water all over the floor below. When I get a free few hours I will seal that bugger up. First few dozen eggs have candled fertile for the most part...now to just get birds laying. The silkies of all things are the only productive ones in the barn right now. 5-7 eggs a day from them and not a single one from 40 or so easter eggers, australorps, rocks, cochins, polish, or Cornish.

No eggs from the PCs past couple of days. Hope they're not too cold. Seems to act fairly normal, if annoyed.

They use the roosts in the coop during the day at will, but still sleep in a pile on the floor at night. Goofy.
