Surviving Minnesota!

Whatever you do dont get them from Greenfire Farms... No offense but I cant stand them... I could get better birds for less than half the price from a hatchery...

Their prices are nuts. $60 for White Marans? $60 for a Spitzhauben?? I won't even mention their SH prices. I can get the Spitzhaubens from the feed store at $3 each if I wanted them.

My hatchery Cochins are better than their Partridge and Mottled Cochins. They dont even have Cushions?

On an unrelated subject but one which may be of interest to many. If you would like to develop a greater appreciation for your local school and school district, you should read the latest article at "Fred On Everything". Some may be shocked, but Fred is a man that writes the facts and his opinion related to sound logic applied to them.

Holms, you have hit the nail on the head with this post. Greenfire is nothing other than a feather merchant in my opinion.
When I think of poultry breeders I think of someone dedicated to promoting a breed they love but from what I can see all they are trying to do is make money and the second a breed is no longer "hot" they will ditch them for the next "hot" thing.

Hi everyone I live in Bemidji Mn and am looking diligently for light Sussex. I am finding out that it is easier to find unicorns that crap rainbows and sunshine than it is to find light Sussex. Any suggestions on here? Thanks in advance.
:highfive: I'm getting Light Sussex in the spring too! I will most likely be getting mine from @3riverschick. She doesn't have a cockerel yet, but is working on getting one soon!
