Surviving Minnesota!

Hey everybody, I'm new to BYC and live up by Pequot. We only have two roosters so far but getting a straight run of chicks next month. I'm repurposing my old fish house for a coop and have enough caging for a 512 sq ft run. I believe they are Red Stars

Welcome!

There wasn’t anymore hatching babies and my humidity was a tish high (82%) so I opened the hatcher up for a picture a little bit ago and now there is more pips... For it not even being day 21 yet I’m pretty happy. Day 21 doesn’t start until like 10 tonight... I set eggs late that night.. So I’m pretty darn happy so far. No Orp babies yet... I figure they will be like Most pure breeds and wait till day 21-22

Well last night was the start of kidding season for the Nigerian's. My mom called and all she said was help, so I ran over to home to help. There was one stuck and she couldn't figure it out. I, for some reason, am a very good baby un-tangler. I have really small hands, and can find a way to visual what I'm feeling. 3 of the 4 were alive. There was a dead baby blocking the way for the last 2 to come out. Since it was still chilly last night they got to come in to warm up, and hopefully now will be able to stay out with mom. She raised triplets last year with no issues at all. 2 doelings, and one buckling (black and white).View attachment 1297239 Ignore the snap banner, I was sending it to someone and then decided to save it.

I want some of these!!! But not the milking kind....the eating kind.

Welcome to the thread,,,, Nice to have a NON-teller of tall tales here... Everyone else in your area is claiming they still have snow, then you send us a picture proving they are not telling us the truth......
