Pesky Orpingtons lol. My Orps are quickly becoming my favorite birds... Very practical birds IMHO....Colder than Haydes here. We are expecting another 3-5 inches of white crap on Sunday. (Because it is expected on a Sunday I must resort to my Sunday words.)
We have busy weekend ahead with Saturday being spent at the Sauk Rapids High School for 4 H State Knowledge Bowl. (Poultry of course) Then off to see my parents and bring them a take out dinner of from the Farming Baseball Team...my 2 nephews are having a fundraiser. Sunday my son graduates from Cub Scout to Boy Scout..... and somewhere amist all of this....we need to fix a vehicle that had the Starter go out in and maybe a few Spring chores. The pens are screaming....."Clean Me".
My chicks are doing wonderfully.... eating me out of house and home. About 150 pounds of chick start per week.
Hoover (Large Toad 2.0) had a little mishap with the Buff Orpingtons. Apparently the Buffs were not in the sharing mood and chose to peck at his tail instead of the flock block. So he got a nice coating of blue-kote, after DD yelled at her buffs to behave and not pick on her "Hoover Baby". So "Hoover Baby" got to move in with a pen of smaller birds until he heals. I don't know how to break it to her but "Hoover Baby" was born the wrong sex and will likely be someone's chicken dinner.
