Holms! I’m hoping dom is a hen of course. But I did see some chick sparring today between the bo and dom. We’ll see.

Holms, I love your comment that you are about positive. You may be a budding politician with your penchant for allowing yourself wiggle room ?

Tfred, reaching out to Mike for his thoughts on selection is likely a good way to go. It is his line of birds and the logic he would use should be very helpful. I try to judge best conformation first and color second. I prefer birds which have a stronger red influence than many do.

Nope. I just tossed out $7 at someone and she thought that was way too much. Think I'll have takers for the pullets. Still have the 3 cockerels. I think I might have a taker for one of them, but I'd let @duluthralphie have his pick of he wanted one.

Oh, and how do I choose which pullets to keep?

I would not want to look at them until they 8 weeks old or so. It is too hard for me to see what they look like before that.

I have enough cockerels, I think. I hatched out 2 in January that are pretty good, I got 1 about a month ago and I have 2 chicks (sex unknown) that hatched this past weekend.

I like the redder color too, the judges do not hence I am working my way to darker birds.
