BC I was scrounging in my Great Aunt and Uncles Back to Eden garden and it too is doing great... They don’t do everything by the book but this garden has never seen fertilizer or pesticides. It gets a heavy layer of wood chips in the fall and will be covered with everything from the “chicken crap pile”...

Okay Holms the Buffies are sort of scaredy cats yet. So will give you the best of the photos I could get. and then a photo barage of my girls.

Golden Buff Love fluff Babies.

This striped buzzard is going to give me headaches. I have a feeling. But I really really like him. He loves leading and bossing the blondes. Jerry will I have Lemon cuckoo orps next spring with him on board?

This Welsummer. Laying through summer. I like everything about her. Patsy Kline. She's a little bossy with her food. Higher up hen...

My pride and joy. Lucy is 4 this year. This past week I saw her 'tidbit' BOSS in the scratch to the younger hens...gifting it to them. She is obviously taken over the lead of the flock. Even though she drags her large self behind them. I see her watching the skies alot.

I have a carton full of eggs from this girl. She does not stop. laying. One of Minnie's New Hampshire stock. I think a line from Urch if I'm not mistaken. Sunny Two.

Pearl. Lovely Lavender from Jerryse. She's prolific as well. but taking the summer off for now.

My Ankle Biter, Abigail. Coming to bite me in the nose before she gets her way and gets scratch. LOL. Black Ameraucana. My little crow in the lawn. Love her character. Spoiled brat.

Kitty by the Beebalm that needs to be weeded. blue ameraucana from Jerryse. She has been a broody for me.

Day 3 up here.
Day 2 for rabbit show, and Day 1 and only for poultry. Yesterday at the ARBA show I had originally entered the Flemish in youth, yesterday I found out that the only other Flemish was entered in Open, so the superintendent and judges agreed to let me show her in Open. Since the other was also a Sandy Senior Doe you couldn't have any Best of Opposite, but I got BV by default everytime. So ours got BOB in one out of three shows.
Rabbit shows took all morning and I went back to the camper for lunch. Then my friend with Rambouillet sheep texted me saying they just got there so I went up there and helped them. Some of her sheep haven't been at home for more then 3 days within the last month because of shows! They only had to trim one lamb and then their ram. The ram would not get up on the stand it took 4 of us to get him up....
So after all the poultry stuff and I help my sheep friend show and do some small trimming today I get to go help my friend with cattle today

Pretty exciting day. Got all our testing done (THANK YOU SO MUCH MNCHICKMOM) and birds washed.

And my parents surprised me! We are maybe picking up a brand new 12’ long enclosed trailer for hauling birds! We are thinking of putting an AC unit in the front of it and doing two rows of cages all the way around... Not sure yet... We are having some people draw up some sketch’s for our farm logo...

Great day for me and my birds!!
4H Show was better then I originally thought it would he with my birds so out of condition. Scott said the one hen was one of the best Blues he had ever seen! She didn't make it far there, but it was good hearing that from such an experienced person. I have never had such a hard judge in showmanship!! Before the whole show started he told us what he expected in showmanship, he wanted us to tell him our exhibitor number, tell him about our bird(the breed, charecteristics, variety, and anything else we wanted him to know), then to show him the primaries and secondaries and count them, and show him the axial. After that you were to show him the front, rear, right and left views of the bird and then asked if he had any questions. He asked some really good questions too! One of mine was "which Queen brought Cochins to England and America", and I knew the anwser so I think that suprised him a bit! I was very happy and thankful to be able to walk away with Champion Senior Showman!!! It means much more then Champion of Show to me!
In the Open Show I was very grateful to be able to walk away with BV,RB, and Res Asiatic! I know the owners of the Black hen who received BB and Champ Asiatic so I am going to ask if they would consider selling as she would be great for my program!

A lunchbreak after the hen class. She wanted to have some of my pizza. This hen is such a sweety she sat all day and waited never moved more then a couple inches. It sure will be hard to train in a new showmanship bird when I sell her this fall

Our County Extension Agent and I. He isn't a poultry guy, he comes to me with all his questions. But he never fails to come watch me in Showmanship, a really caring guy who loves all the kids in the state and is always looking to help anyone
