I have always planted them in fall whenever the seed pods go poof. I wonder if birds eat them.

She said they need COLD...not that pansy butt winter temps you call cold,,,real cold, like we have...I assume you will have to move to international falls for a week or two in January (with your seeds) to get a good sprout from them.....

The Pilfered birds only got a blue at the county fair!!!! I was sure they were headed to Champ status...

I find it amazing the judge did not believe the cockerel was hatched this year......January 5th hatch!!!! This I know.

Yesterday,,,and Oz will like this...a guy came by the booth and I asked him if he had been to the animals and he said he had just come from the chickens.....

He then told me there were 3 speckled sussex he said were "beautiful and he wished he could get some of that stock"...He was from Bolus so I know he had no idea they came from mine/holms and mnchickmom's menagerie. I don't think he believed me when I said I hatched them.....

While residing at some one's home...........who shall remain nameless because of the damage it could do to the reputation of the good people in Becker County.........they seem to have been abused..as soon as I reached into the cage to touch one, it took the submissive pose....

This does worry me about that person and why his birds are so scared of him...

Perhaps it is just the light, but the pullet on the right seems to have the best penciling ?

They're all pretty good. I think the others were moving a little bit.

My Buckeye Pullet was Reserve Champion Pullet, Buckeye Cock took Reserve Cock.

I am in New Prague with a team mate for a long/high jump camp with an Olympian. I had a session today, and we both have one tomorrow and Sunday! I have learned so much already!
I set 6 black eggs about a week ago, so I am hoping they were fertile.

Well - said birds were judged in Open Class this morning and I happen to be the person in charge of barn management so I may be disseminating info early but......the Trio took 3rd behind a Rademacher Rhode Island Red Trio and a Trio of young Black Sumatras.

My Buckeye Pullet was Reserve Champion Pullet, Buckeye Cock took Reserve Cock.

What is faking?

Faking is illegal trimming of feathers or dyeing feathers or any coloring legs and stuff like that anything that is removed from the bird that should not be. It dies not include the things normally done in grooming...

To put it in terms a city slicker would understand,,,,,,,,,

a woman suddenly getting huge eye lashes or changing from a 32a to a 36d is faking.

Ralphie, does this mean that artificial breast implants are not allowed in show chickens ?
