Surviving Minnesota!

Hello All! I am looking for someone in Minnesota that breeds show quality buff Orpington. Can anybody help me out??
@MNChickMom and I both raise and breed show quality buff Orpingtons. While I am not selling any at this time she might be. Hard time of year to get anything from breeders as everyone is trying to get their show birds hatched out for this fall.

I have show quality toads....But they aren't for sale either...I mention it because I am the proud owner of Hoover, and he can beat any BO's butt any day of the week...

I would be looking to purchase baby chicks. Would be nice to get them in March. Any chance of selling a few? They are for my Kids’ 4h Project.

I have a survey type questions..

My Chickens are slobs. They spill feed all around the feeders. When I come in the pens they flock around me demanding feed.

I put my foot down today and told them no more feed until they clean up the mess of spilled feed around the feeders. I informed them the feed does not just grow on trees and needs to be paid for with my hard earned money....Some took it to heart, others laughed at me 2 gave me the upright middle primary feather..

So do you make your birds clean up their mess of spilled feed before giving them new?

Maybe it is just my birds having poor table manners. Either way it is time for an intervention!

Absolutely. If there's feed on the ground, even wet stuff, they have to finish it before they get more. I usually let them be hungry for the last bit of the day and overnight before giving them all they can eat the next morning. Doesn't seem to affect their weight or health, and it keeps rodents from becoming an even larger issue.

Here are a couple pictures of Hoover roosting...Some do not believe he roosts...He is almost like a normal chicken in so many ways..

Oh and one of a fish or three for those unable to catch their own...

I make mine eat it, if there is wasted food they have to much food. The waste is why we started making the no waste feeders that I have posted on here before.
