Surviving Minnesota!

We have a coat of about 3 inches and it is rapidly falling. Schools are on time (here at least).

I have got the most adventurous egg laying bantam buckeye ever. A week ago she laid an egg on the top of a 2x4 wall, and I collected it next morning without a scratch. This morning, I picked her egg and it was sitting on the 2x4 roost bar. I don’t understand why she won’t use the nest box.

I will be setting a small batch of eggs tonight.

Did I mention this is a picture perfect snowfall if you are indoors? Hopefully, the next ind stays away.

We are currently in a blizzard warning. I don't know how much snow we've gotten - maybe a few inches - it's hard to guess when it's coming sideways. Visibility is poor, plows have been pulled, school has been cancelled in all our surrounding schools and main street is closed. They've even closed the local clinics. This is supposed to go until midnight or so. We missed the ice and snow earlier this week. I'm OK with that.

We are in heavy snow fall right now, but no wind...Which is good it is the light fluffy snow that piles into 20 ft tall drifts with wind.....

I plowed yesterday, I had to use the ATV as my Bobcat decided to quit for the season. I think the tank heater over heated and burnt the water hose off. It appears burnt is not connected and a bunch of fluid leaked out of the radiator. I looked at it and decided this is not a job I want to tackle outside in cold weather...

So either the 4 wheeler moves the snow, or I hire someone for now...

Winter Vacuums!

Exactly! Here is a picture on State Hwy 28 near Graceville - not sure if we have a camera there, or if it's on a plow. It was on MNDOT 511 (which shows the roads in our part of the state as "no travel advised". Our county sheriff went a step further and put out a "no travel warning".)

You weather makes me not feel so bad about mine .

The school had the kids come in this morning an early release at 1:00. Feed them a lunch and get your state aid. Ahhh yes... just as the snow tapers off...?

I’m living in a winter wonderland here. Snow depths are at a good height. That’s for sure.

My coop has excellent insulation at this time!
