Surviving Minnesota!

Colder than..... I can't say it, I am too innocent, I will wait for EJB to finish it...

I checked my trap, nothing again today. Turkeys are staying inside, it appears it is a day to play on the trampoline. I have to tighten the bird netting again. If i ever discover which turkey started the trampoline games, it is dinner!

The only good thing about this is the mew sap I should get, none of the red maple have started to bloom, so they should be good. The box elder are still tight buds so that sap should be good. I was mixing my saps earlier, I am not any more. I found the box elder makes a better tasting syrup than the maples do. It is lighter colored and has a buttery taste.

Next year every ounce of box elder will be kept separated.

Headed to St Cloud today, I need feed. I was hoping I was done for the year, but this snow storm has me screwed up.

Good afternoon chickeneers. we are now 9-15 inch belt for white schizzle. Perfect.
I am good at shoveling snow. Currently.
I'd rather be 'good at pulling weeds and prepping gardens'.
I think the reason I like the pickled northern is because of that dryer texture to be honest. Jerry it's really good. Find a good sweet vinegar brine recipe (not the one with the chartruese or wine or whatever that is) onion and pickling spice. 2 days in the fridge. Pow.

I could help you out.. maybe... do they need to lay eggs, or are feathers all that you require?

Eggs are nice, but feathers will do. My hen's still laying, but coming up on her 4th birthday. I'm definitely interested in taking a couple of yours... are you in Duluth? Or orrock?

Rain stopped around 10 . windy now . Warm smoked fish is done . yum . So the second setting hen is a disappointment . Swapped eggs before dark last night . She got off the nest and stayed off . So I locked her in the nest this morning . We will see . Some you just can't disturb .

Ick, you can all keep it :p.

It's just windy (shocker) and cold here now, hopefully it just stays that way until this thing passes.

Snowing here. Christmas/snow globe snow—very pretty, two mph wind, NW (as usual). Four and a half inches on the truck hood. So far the bomb cyclone thing isn’t as bad as expected. :fl

Still, it’s kind of pathetic to be grateful for THAT in the middle of April. :p:gig Hopefully it will all be over soon...

Well that sounds promising! It's blowing about 10-20 mph here right now, still snowing.
