Surviving Minnesota!

WE HAD A NICE DAY!!!

I finished my first chicken tractor. Not perfect, but the chickens haven’t complained... except when I loaded them all up in a bucket, four at a time, and brought them out there. They didn’t appreciate that as they ought to have done. Ingrates. :p

When I finished and came back inside, this little one was waiting for me.

Alas as of now she seems to be alone. She keeps looking at me plaintively from the incubator as though begging to be picked up and comforted but I’ve resisted for the sake of the other eggs. Three other eggs that I can tell are pipped and the pips have grown. I sure hope she/he gets at least one sibling, but it’s been quite some time since this one magically appeared.

There is some fledgling green peeking up. The cows are happy though it is very little.

The pullets have plenty of dry yard to enjoy, but where do they want to be? In the soggy part, tearing it up, of course. I threw a bunch of old bedding and icky hay in there just to keep it from complete swampness. They love it.

I have eggs going into lockdown tomorrow and I'm going to be gone all weekend! :barnie
Gratz on the baby!!

Are you still coming down here??

Are we still trying to get together Friday evening?

Where? And where will you be?

Is anyone else coming?? Speak up all...it’s a chance to talk chickens or turkeys.. and a chance to meet a foreigner all the way from NoDak!! We can see how they react to trees!! Should be exciting...
