Was all excited to see (and yes, feel) the big nuclear reactor in the sky... lasted until almost eight a.m. Rest of the day chilly and drizzly.

There is a man in the coop again.
This is Sentry. He is TFred’s partridge chantecler. He’s a big beautiful rooster we’re putting to work on this chicken ranch.

Abigail my little soft spoken black Ameraucana with the sweetest purrs swooped from her corner like a bat out of hades to greet him and then challenged him on the roost. He slightly raised up on his haunches , towered over her, and that was that.

Plus we moved her ornery hen pecking keester over by her sister, Tilly. I’m feeling more complete with a rooster. The dynamic feels complete. I hope they learn to all get along without issues.

These two welcome committee members are sure to be the ones with questionable morals tomorrow. One is fast as lightning but squats at every movement to pet her and the NH is Sooo slow. I’m home tomorrow. I’m excited to see how he does.

I'm curious if he crows in the morning. As he's been second fiddle here, I don't believe he's been much of an alarm clock for the last couple of months.

I did not kill all the eggs with humidity.. 3 hatched.. I candled tonight. I think the others are dead.. I see no movement.

I keep the can of raid by the hatcher, just Incase a dux shows up inside it..

Good morning!
Last night my daughter went out turkey hunting, she endured the rain like a trooper. Didn’t see any turkeys but plenty of other wildlife. She is back out this morning. Next up wrangle son up to help clean the barn. Yup Hatchery inspection on Friday. Testing all the birds was done a few weeks ago.
