Surviving Minnesota!

Beautiful irises. What a nice color. I’m a blue fan myself.

Sadie brought home what I thought was her own personal trophy.

But upon further placement I do now think she thinks she’s helping me with my yard landscaping and yard ornaments. She has proudly placed a European mount via Mother Nature fork horn next to the ankle breaker hole that I’ve filled in twice to no avail.

Yep that’s where she placed it. I was kind of hoping she’d put it in the hole and bury it thereby fixing hazardous hole in my lawn. She buries the beef soup bones I buy her. But too proud to bury this one I guess.
That's quite the treasure - she should be proud of it! :D

Maybe she is trying to tell you something, like there is a dead body buried there....???

I see the clues...

Have these cankles been certified Norwegian by a DNA test? Or are these allegedly Norwegian Cankles?
3/8th's Norwegian. But seeing other Norwegians around with cankles I'm sure this is a Fjord Country trait. Good for climbing up and down.
Good Rain last night. The big lake likes to break apart the cells before it hits us sometimes. Did the same last night. So no Hail. As many around us got. The birds are busy in the lawn this morning. The littles are out and getting more saavy with the great outdoors. They are friendlier with my handling as well. As they don't just want to jump right out of the brooder. We'll get there. My other broods would be waiting at the garage door to go forage. these guys are different. I imagine next week will be better. We found 6 June bugs in Sadie's Kiddie pool (for cooling her down) and boy oh boy do they like me now.

Chicks on a June Bug. Nothing more fun.

Well come here first and get some practice in.

I give advanced credit with my bird processing classes here......and you might win a real live mouse trap!

I would actually totally take y’all up on that (minus the asthma-inducing mouse trap) if it wasn’t so far to drive. I seriously don’t know what I’m doing yet. OTOH, while I’d love to be closer, it’s probably worth even the weather to live in a free(ish) state.
