I am freezing!!!

But I had my first Grosbeak at the feeder.

I have one little poult. I think the other egg didn't make it. No external pip, no discernable movement. If it hasn't hatched by morning I guess I'll give up on it. I'm gonna try giving the poult to my broody chicken hen tonight. It's her first time, so hopefully she'll do okay. She's been sitting for a little less than three weeks. we shall see--or I shall. I'm gonna use a red light to hopefully avoid disturbing her, so I'll be the only one seeing very much.

She tucked it right into her breast. Sweet little clucks. She's a gentle girl--all my messing with her and she never offered to even peck me. I was going to swap out her clear chicken eggs with incubator ones when they were ready to hatch, but when turkey mommy didn't have good luck with the first hatchling, somemommy needed to take this one under her wing.

Happy mothers day . Cool windy day here . Worked on car and truck maintenance yesterday . Warmer days coming later in the week . See chipmunks and squirrels a lot now . Looking for maple seeds . I gave them some corn . Yeah getting soft in my old age .
