He had said toward the end of last season that it was taking its tole on his body and health and he wouldnt be continuing the show but doing specials here and there I guess. I loved the show too, you could really learn from him things that you could use if you were lost hunting or hiking.

He also has a leg injury from a motorcycle or dirtbike accident (someone correct me if I am wrong) that was starting to become a problem during survival situations. He also said something about not wanting to be apart from his family so much

With Les Stroud what you see is as it happens, I read somewhere that Bear is a bit of a phoney.

Too bad if Suvivorman is off the air,

One of our favorites line-ups was 1 hour of Mantracker followed by 1 hour of Survivorman.
Manracker is tracking some people in California this season.

Love all those shows except for that one hick show, that Pitchemen, it sucks!

I know Bear does it for ratings and grossness of it but neverthanless, some of the things he did, you can use.

As for Les, I love that guy and he is a REAL deal but understand if he needed to move on because of his past injuries. Starvation is hard on the body.

I miss Les. He said the survivor situations were just becoming too much on his body, that semi-starvation for a week at a time was just becoming too much to recover from.

My sons are fans of both shows, and I once asked my eleven-year old who he would be rather be lost in the wild with. I expected him to say "Les Stroud" but he said "Bear Grylls". When I asked why, he said "because Bear's camera crew would get us out". There it is, in simple words, why Les is more real than Bear.

On a slightly related topic, we has a pullet named Les Stroud. She has the only survivor of her hatch. The boys named her.
