Susan Boyle Didn't Win

Robin'sBrood :

I agree, but I don't think that Susan will deal well with being thrust into the limelight (even though it's already happened to a degree) and am glad that she can (hopefully) move a bit slower since that she didn't win. I'm concerned about her mental health, not about where and how she can use her voice.

I think I would rather her voice "confined to a church choir" than to see her miserable and stressed because of the fame. I hope she does get a recording contract, but I also hope that if she can't be happy and comfortable in the limelight that she will turn it down.

All in all, I wanted her to be comfortable where and when she wants to. She may not be able to handle the stress of a "superstar" but neverthanless, it would be best if she would make some albums that she could do without any problems. The media needs to back off, who would want a camera in your face and people following every move you make and what you eat and what time you go to the bathroom! All those ridiculous stuff!

I will still buy her albums, she got a beautiful voice!

Look at Pavarotti and other great folks that didn't win but became famous later on.

We love you Susan!

Hi!
Win, lose, or draw... she has a beautiful voice.
Best of luck in all future ventures, Susan!!!

Sadly she has been committed to a private clinic under the Mental health Act...............I hope she recovers soon.............. so very sad..............

Wow - I was wondering - she looked so very stressed at the final...I share the view of other BYCers posting here - it was a relief that she didn't win - it seemed like the attention wasn't a positive thing for her... I am glad she is getting some care....

What is the Mental Health Act? She wasn't forced against her will was she?

to Susan Boyle..... I hope this all turns around and she becomes well again .....................

The poor thing - I knew the first time I saw her there was 'something' a bit off with her. The interview with her priest confirmed what I thought. And she was teased her whole life - people can be so cruel. On GMA this morning, there was an interview with someone from the show, and he said she had said she was happy that group won, she thought they were better than her. Good for her for putting on a good spin. Now I suppose some moron said something off to her after the show and she broke down. I hope she finds a level, some equilibrium, in all of this, and eventually finds peace with it. She has an amazing voice!

This is sad news... but good news too, when you stop to think about it. If she hadn't been wise enough to ask for help we could be reading much sadder news about her later down the road. I hope she gets the help she needs to cope because I'm afraid that the media frenzy over her isn't going to let up for a while.
