I have a three year old RIR who looked off colour and when I checked her I found that her mouth was full of thick mucus and her mouth smelt rotten. I could not see any yellow lesions at all so presume the infection is further down. Am treating her with copper sulphate in her water mixed with a little cider vinegar and cranberry juice to make it more palatable. I am also giving her 200mg if Metronidazole. She is on day three and seems to be brighter and is eating and drinking a little on her own. Is there anything else I can do to help her? After isolating her for three days I have put her back with the flock as she seemed to want to be with them and I thought it might encourage her to eat as I had had to force feed her .

I am treating her and the whole flock with Copper Sulphate and giving her half a 400mg Metronidazole each day and she seems to be improving be it slowly. Still has slight mucus which I sweep out with kitchen roll. She is quiet alert with her tail up and is with the rest of the flock
