Suspicious about my Buff O

Looks like a pullet to me.Here is a pic of one of my girls.She has kind of a big comb

Ooh she's pretty...Looks like she's laying age already based on her red comb. I think mine's coming down with a small case of fowl/dry pox because off the specks on the comb. How do the tail feathers on your orp look?

Very iffy! I am not so sure about pullet now. My hens do have good size combs/wattles NOW, but until they started laying their combs/wattles were almost nonexistent and pink. 13 weeks seems to early to be too close to laying. I wouldn't go so far as to say rooster, her body looks very much like my hens but that comb and those wattles look awfully suspicious for such a young bird

Definitely a boy.

aoxa--Shouldn't he have crowed by now? I've heard no crowing from this one. I have another rir roo thats the same age and is crowing and has much bigger comb and waddle as this one. Tail feathers are also more defined on my rir roo like the guide u provided.

Nope. Not always. It all depends on the individual boy. If there is an alpha rooster he may not even crow until he is removed.

I've had them wait until 6 months. I once had a silkie that didn't crow until he was two years old!

Buff orpingtons can be slow to mature, my BO was crowing at 16 weeks...well before my hens were laying, but he was the only rooster and he stopped crowing once the days were shorter. Not sure why. Our of my 4 BO chicks I had one that was definitely a rooster, 2 that were definitely hens and 1 I was unsure about. It ended up being a hen, she just looked more 'slim' than my other hens, not as fluffy However, she was the last to lay an egg and her comb/wattles were small and pink until just before she laid, which is how hens usually are. If you are positive that that chicken has not laid an egg I would think you have a slow to mature rooster because hens don't get so red until they are laying.
