Sussex chicken pictures please!

I have 2 speckled Sussex that are 4 weeks old, and they are pretty skittish compared to most of my other chicks, but are very docile and friendly once I pick them up. I think I just need to spend time with them more, but it’s hard to tame and handle 40 chicks. :)
I’ll try to get pictures tomorrow!
Oh wow I can’t imagine looking after 40 chicks!

Hi everyone, we recently got 6 light Sussex chicks. We’ve never had them before, but I think they are a beautiful breed. If anyone has or used to have light Sussexes (or Sussex chickens in general) i would love to see pictures of them, as I would love to know how they will look when they are bigger. Also, are Sussex chickens docile? Does this mean you can keep a few roosters in the same coop without them fighting? Five of my six chicks are Roos 😭
This is Susie my light Sussex…. As for keeping Roos together I do it quite well I have 1GLW boy 1silver Sebright boy 1golden sebright boy 2 silkie boys and 2 aruacana x boys and I have one BLGW who is highly likely a boy as I’m starting to see saddle feathers come through…. My boys get along perfectly we have a few squabbles but nothing more serious than “brothers fighting over the same girl” no one has hurt each other and they all (mostly) show each other decency and respect…. I’ve also attached a photo of my GLW and golden Sebright boy hanging out together….

If it were me, I would weight them at 12 weeks and find the one that is to closest to what they should weigh and rehome the rest. That many cockerels is a recipe for overbreeding your poor hens. Good luck and ask these folks anything...oh and welcome home to BYC!

Susie is beautiful! She looks just like our pullet ❤️. Thanks 4 the info on the Roos, fingers crossed our set up will work... your roosters are gorgeous also, the Sebright especially is so unusual!

Thanks for the welcome and the info 😊. I’m hoping to keep the cockerels in a rooster-only flock. I haven’t done it before but I’m gonna try it out and if it doesn’t work I will just have to rehome them later on.

He’s very rare where I’m located and it’s even harder to find his female counterparts.... I let mine free range during the day and the boys all get night boxed in there own boxes at night ... hope it helps and thanks yes Susie is a bit bigger now and is the peace keeper in my flock she’s like a fluffy white cloud
