Svart Hona x Buff Orpington...

Just found this. I have some Ayan Cemani and one looks like it will be a rooster. I'm interested in finding out what to expect if I get any chicks out of my Buff Orpington hens.

In your post, you said you don't have a Buff rooster. My rooster got about the size of my hens. I have weighed them to a ten pound weight.

Been meaning to update. Here are the fully grown pics. I haven't weighed them, but the hens are midway between a Svart and a Buff Orpington in size. I know this is an old thread, but they’re beautiful! Out of curiosity, did you ever breed these birds?

No, I never bred any of them. Unfortunately, I lost both hens to foxes over time.

Most likely lavender or buff. We crossed our Buff Orpington hen and our Svart Hona rooster. All of the chicks are completely black, they were black when they hatched, then had a grey color to them, now that their adult feathers are in they are all completely dark black with a green shimmer to them. One of them has a chest plate where the tips are all white/blonde, it looks like she's wearing lace, but she's the only one with any color to her.
