Swan frozen in pond

    There was a story this morning on the St Louis station about a Trumpiter (sp?) that wa frozen in a pond. A group of people rescued it and took it to a local wildlife refuge for a little TLC.
    As far as anyone knows it is a wild bird. I guess the water frooze so fast it couldn't get out. I guess because they need to run/fly along the top of the water to take off that it simple couldn't. Just didn't seem "right" to me.

    i think it fell asleep over night in the pond. ive seen multiple stories that ducks/geese simply stayed in the water over night and they froze in it.
