My geese do pretty well on just foraging, I don't give mine any grain throughout the seasons except for winter. They seem to do fine on a 17% layer ration for chickens (If you're able to get some in your area..)

They'll eat anything. Layer ration, waterfowl feed, all flock feed, game bird ration. You can mix any of these with a little cracked/crimped corn as well if you want. To much corn though can make them fat and effect laying.

Had one of my Chinese hens lay into late June. she stopped after she decided to hatch out some goslings of her own.. just started laying a few weeks ago.

thanks for replies they are settling in well
do they only lay upto Easter??? or longer

thanks

If you keep taking the eggs Chinese will lay into late summer. Chinese are one of the best breeds of geese for laying. On the other hand my Sebastopols only lay for about 6-7 weeks, from late Feb into mid April.
