"sweating blood" at top of beak / bottom of comb???

Here are some pics of my pullets today and the weird little blood spot where the comb and beak meet:

No. I've seen no attempts to peck outside the run / coop. But that does seem a good explanation given the location of the blood. I don't recall seeing it when I opened the coop this morning. I only noticed it when I went out after breakfast to bring them fruit scraps from breakfast. The bright red was very noticeable then. So, maybe it's something they've done to themselves while in the run. Poking beaks through the wire makes the most sense -- and most of them are just starting to get their combs to grow....I don't know. I haven't seen them doing anything new.

Are they pecking through the hardware cloth to get spilled food or treats?

TeamChaos has it right. I just wanted to say so because someone else may show up here and need an answer. All is well, no permanent damage done.

I noticed this issue on 2 of my 3 pullets today. odd that its the exact same amount of blood at the exact same spot. I thought it was weird enough that it was on 2 of my birds, but now seeing that's its not, makes me wonder what it is.

This happened to my 4 week old chick today to and I was so worried it was a desise or something but she was out in a portable coop for one of the first times and must have cut herself on the wire! The picture I took was from when I put them in the brooder for the night. They have a lot more room during the day but just since it's so cold out here at night they get to sleep indoors! Thanks for the help I hope the others don't pick at it

Is it common for the others to pick at it if it's that small of an injury? I put my chics 5ish week's old out side in there new run for a couple hours and one came out looking just like the ones pictured

I have this issue right now with my new chickens. They are young pullets, three different varieties. They travelled a long way yesterday to their new coop in my backyard, and today all three of them have a spot of blood where the comb meets the beak. There are streaks of scant blood on the feathers of the white one, and a drip of blood here and there in the run. We have hardware mesh all around our run, so I hope that is the issue.

Hi! I'm new to raising chickens. Always had them growing up but never where I was this involved.

My chicks are about 5 weeks old and I noticed today where their beaks meet the comb it is bleeding....They are acting fine and eating but noticed it on a few of them today.

Is this normal?
