SWEDISH Duck Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. This is what they stay in, for now. We need some wood to build the more open space we've been planning. I AM afraid Peepers will fly away. But, since I really don't want to clip her wings, we are going to take that chance. Maybe she'll stay. Maybe she won't. I hope she's does.

Why don't you want to clip their wings? When done properly it's harmless to the bird.

I know. But, (1) I'm petrified of doing it and (2) I wanted to let her fly since she's a wild Mallard and I'm, technically, not supposed to have her in captivity.

...Even though SHE chose ME to be her Duck Mommy.

I just wanted to show my swedish duckling(way in the back behind mallard and pekin) along with my other ducklings

So...my ducklings are 17ish if not 18ish weeks old...and no curly tails.  Safe to call them girls now?

Well....we have a drake with no curled tail. Thought he was a she because of no curl, and his beak is a different color than we expected. But he is definitely a he. How does the bird sound? Whispery or loud and strident? Boys are whispery, girls are not. Even my little 6-8 week old girls are strident and sound way different than boys, lol.

Quacks are somewhat softer than my Pekin, but I don't have a certain male to compare to. They both quack all...the...time...

My female black Swedish duck has been going flat in the pool. Does this mean she is going to start laying eggs soon or has she already?
