MY SWEDISH EGGS ARE HATCHING!!   The first of eight just popped out!

Congratulations!! I won't say that first one is cute....just yet. It's amazing how they still look like a little alien until they get all their fluff.

This weekend i had only one out of 12 ebay sfh eggs to hatch.All of my other eggs are doing good.Sometimes i wonder about shipped eggs.

I HATE having to rely on shipping eggs. I has SFH's last hatch and only had 3 survive. This hatch the best I did was 10/25 EO's, which is pretty good for shipped but also had 1/13 BC Marans, 1/12 Araucanas and 2/14 B/B/S Orps.

The last 4 chicks ended up costing me $25 a chick. I'm reading to just forget the hatching and order chicks. I think it will end up being less money per live chick.

Just dropped in to say out of 8 chicks that are now months old. Once died and only two of the remaining six are pullets. I don't think I'll be hanging on to this breed. Not happy at all.

Yeah, this seemed to be the year of the rooster. :/ Gosh, if they would just all get along I'd keep them all. I had to laugh this evening as I was trying to beat the upcoming storm, getting the coop all cleaned up and water, food topped off. I could barely take a step in any direction, I had everyone under my feet! I love this breed. They follow me all over the yard, which is 4 acres.
I wish they were a little larger. Then hens worry me while out free ranging. Sorry you're so disenchanted. You've got a couple of pairs, maybe you'll make your money back from them.

Did all of your chicks hatch? Got some fluffy photos?

I have some NN chicks growing out in the garage. The SFH pullets and cockerels, and my Spitzhauben, visit them throughout the day. None of my other breeds do. I think they like the babies.
So sweet! You'll enjoy their outgoing personalities.
