Maybe I will name them Olympia, Bronze and Phelps:lol: We are slightly addicted to Olympics and even more so to swimming...my oldest son swims year round on a team.
Super cute! I just had 1 pop out a little bit ago. he's still all wet trying to get his bearings.

Introducing our new Swedish Flower Hen chicks! Two were hatched on July 30th and the 3rd (Frida) hatched on the 31st. We're so thrilled to have these babies as part of our family (and no - the chicks have not been vent-sexed... the names are just based upon guesses :)

I'll post updated as they grow.

The feather sexing seems to be the more accurate to me.  The wing feathers will be different sizes if female and all the same for males.   This works on a lot of breeds.  Seems to have worked on my SFH's
Is this something that can only be done right after hatch or can it be done at any time? Thank you

From what I've read it needs to be done in the first three days after hatch. I have used the feather sexing technique several times with both Ameraucana, and Swedish Flower Hens, and it has been fairly accurate. Even for a beginner. While holding the chick, stretch the wing tip out to reveal the new feather quills. A pullet will have alternating long and short feather quills, while the cockerels will have all one length. Good luck!
