Yes, the flower hens are considered dual purpose. In body type they look like those old farm breeds that were good layers but with enough meat to make them useful candidates for the stew pot.

Having lived with them now for a month, the most surprising thing is how friendly they are. They're the first birds to walk to the wire and check out the people for a little entertainment. They don't seem flighty or afraid of human contact. In fact, they go out of their way to make the connection.
 
Stonehenged--am quite a fan of this thread. Thank you for sharing the personality traits of the FLowers. That's awesome to hear! Glad they don't follow the flightiness of the Meditteranean breeds.
 
I'll try to shoot some video this week of how they behave when you walk up to their pen. Pretty entertaining how calm and friendly they are.
