What age is she?

Who sells hatching eggs and has heard good results about their eggs hatching after being shipped? I have purchased 4 times from different people off ebay and BYC and only had person's eggs hatched (7out of 14,BYC member). THey have been shipped from North Carolina, Florida, Alabama and Texas. I want chicks but paying $15 a piece and shipping is crazy) but I guess buying shipped eggs is crazier. I try to purchase from NPIP places as well. I'm getting frustrated. Any input is greatly appreciated. I have hatched other breeds from shipped eggs and had better results.

Buying hatching eggs is tough. It may not be where they come from that is the problem, but perhaps your local PO or more likely sorting center that is the problem. SFH eggs in general do not seem to travel very well. I have had people get 100% hatch on my eggs (KY to FL) and also had some that get none to hatch. I wish I could give you more encouragement.

Where are you located? Maybe someone nearby has some, or knows someone who does.

I live outside the Houston area and the eggs I purchased from Texas of SFH eggs hatched. I have seen KYTinpusher and Bulldogma advertise their eggs but unsure of the distance to travel since further up north than the South and read to try to purchase eggs less than 4 to 5 states away. I just thought I would ask. Thanks for the input. I may break down and order from KYTinpusher next time. I think I have 50-50 on sex for the six I have one has crooked toes so she won't be a breeding hen but the others unsure. I have 50/50 for crested as well. I have two tri colored, one black and white and 2 red/white combos and 1 all white. I will try to get pictures to post in the near future. They are beautiful and I want to have more.

I keep thinking

that there might be enough people on BYC throughout the country to form a chain and drive eggs from one person to another until they get to their end location...same with chicks....

Where is our list? We made a list a few weeks ago with SFH folks here. Maybe there are a couple on there who are kind of close to you.

I cannot get them to hatch either. Yet I succeed and succeed well with eggs that do not travel via PO. Toying with the idea of buying yet another bator and trying again. Not that I need more...but to see if I can work out why it won't work for me.

I did finally add it up, and it ended up being cheaper for me to buy chicks in the long run, just to get started. I feel very fortunate that a lot of super nice people have helped me out too!

Getting eggs through the mail is a real crap shoot. My experiences have not been good and more times than not I end up with scrambled eggs. There are some shipments where at least 50% of the eggs have completely detached air cells. Needless to say my hatching success rates are absymal.
