It's also possible that they're missing something nutritionally that they were normally getting in the wilds or in the grains of their home country. Diet makes a huge difference in how the eggs develop, and a breed evolves to thrive in the local environment.
So how do the yolks of your other breeds that you keep measure on the scale of fragility?

my sfh eggs (when I actually GOT eggs) were all nice and firm. but then again they were also free ranging and I never did find any early eggs. just the ones once they decided to stop hiding them
Mine have been laying very well since they started. they will average about 4-5 eggs a week. The only time they stop is when they're molting, or brooding.I have read conflicting comments on the egg laying potential of SFHs
can anyone tell me how well they lay?
