Thanks ki4got. Guess I didn't make myself clear. The chicks are only 4 weeks. I have 20 chicks, all the down on their chests are some version of white except for one chick, who had red down. I realize the motteling occurrsas they grow & feather out. Just curious why this is the only one with red down on her chest.

Be certain that the red-chested one is actually a Swede - GFF does use other breeds as "packing peanuts" a lot of times.

Time will certainly tell. If it flowers out nicely, we'll know!!

I guess it is pretty uncommon to have red chests as chicks... I don't think I've ever had one.

Oh - and I'll need to add your bloodlines to mine in the future! Up to 6 now, but there's no such thing as too much diversity!

Let's see how this one grows out... but it doesn't strike me as a Swede at this point. Wait and see if it gets flowering... that will give us a better idea.
