Swedish Flower Hen Thread

Hello everyone! I am new to chickens and I have decided that the Swedish Flower Hens are for me! I am eagerly waiting on 6, day old chicks due to be shipped on the 24th from GFF. To entertain myself while waiting I have read all 9130 posts on this thread. LOL! Can you tell I'm impatient? I am so tempted to call GFF and double my order. I think I have it bad....

I am so bad.... I e-mailed Jenny at GFF to see if she had more she could ship with my order. These are going to be $200 chicks each by the time I am through with coops, feed, lights and brooder box. Apparently this is how chicken math works....LOL!

and welcome to the Swedish Flower Hen thread! You will love your SFH! Yes, there are a lot of enablers here to help you get some diversity in your flock when you are ready. Ordering more from GFF can not hurt because you WILL want more.

Apparently these are the "Beanie Babies" of the chicken world. I need one of every color!

ok did a head count on the latest brood under Red Momma... 11 buff/red cochins, 2 blue cochins, 17 sfh. 3 of them appear to be crested and have been wing banded as keepers. 2 cockerels 1 pullet.

that's not counting the 6 I sold today! she really is a super momma... also one of the most aggressive girls I've ever had, going so far as to attack the dog even, when he tried to get past her to come in the house. LOL

those who know Sunny would know he's great around chickens and chicks...

Egg-zactly! Yes - you do need 3 of every color... at least. LOL!
