Swedish Flower Hen Thread

Justin - welcome aboard! Wish I had eggs, but my girls are not yet laying. I think very highly of 4H and I'd send you some in a heart beat if I had any. I'm keeping my fingers crossed someone else on here will help you out. Otherwise, I'll send you some this spring if I can! I take it you have access to a good incubator??

Thank you and yes ma'ma my 4H leader gave me one for a graduation gift from the 4H club we have always bought the seniors something and since this is my senior year I recieved this as my gift!! I have tried it he gave me a few mixed breed eggs and 6 out of 8 hatched 2 were not fertial.... I really want these so I also hope someone can help me out!

Justin...

Sending you a PM... my hens are laying well, I have orders to fill next 2 weeks. I will send you some eggs after that.

Beth - you ROCK!

Just to let everyone know - I'm very sad to say that I had to cull Inga (one of my beautiful BHep pullets) today for an injury that would not have healed. It was really hard, but it was the best thing for the poor girl! She had a slipped ligament in her hock due to a freak injury. We prayed over her and loved on her and said our goodbyes.

I'm still a mess... but I feel better knowing I did the right thing for Inga. She was in SO much pain!

BHep - thank you for sending those eggs to ki4got who allowed me to have the 3 SFH chicks! I still have Gunnar and Frederic - and love them immensely! I'll be looking for more girls for them as soon as possible.

I'm so sorry to hear about Inga. You did the right thing.

I'm facing the same decision about a polish pullet. I've got her separated but it doesn't seem to be healing and I really hate to see them suffer...

OH, Mine too!! I can't even move when I go out there. One flies up to my shoulder, another tries to fly up on my arm, but always misses. They're crazy!!!
