I think the guesses you made on sex is right (for what that is worth) . I did not realize all of them were crested! Whoot! Like I said if you get alot of them showing up roos I will trade them out for you, but 2 out of 6 aint bad! Yeah!

3 of my hens and my roo are crested. Ill try changing their diet...my feed is Only 16% protein currently.

i'm still guessing on my 8 week old chick (not gunnars). I keep going back and forth still... at 6 weeks I said roo, right now i'm leaning toward pullet.

that's what I love about my dorkings. most can be sexed at hatch, or as late as when their breast feathers grow in. LOL the cochins, I've had roos crow as early as 9 days old, but usually their combs are red by 2 weeks.

Are SFH good mothers and do they go broody often?

I haven't had any broody SFH's yet.
