Welcome to the thread and to BYC! We're glad you've joined us.
I love Swedish Hens! I am still getting acclimated to posting in the forums, but I figured I would introduce myself to this thread since they are our favorite breed at our micro farm. Here are some pics of our rooster Sven and his offspring (thankfully the crest genes were passed on!). Sven is a little small for his age (2yrs), but he is so well behaved and makes a great roo!

I'm doing my best to keep her under lock and key, but still let her be a chicken. So far I haven't heard of anyone else in the US having one like her, but I've seen pictures of a bunch like her in the UK. I'm still looking for other people in the US that have SFH of this coloring.

I'm looking forward to seeing what comes from pairing her with Mace.

Quote: I'll be looking for eggs! Perhaps by the time she is laying I will nave my NPIP and we can swap. I got side tracked last year when I was going to get it and this winter was not favorable to standing outside testing 90+ birds. Time to get it going again.

juststruttin posted this about a year ago. Jeremy thought it might be a MF Leghorn, not a SFH, but I never saw anything from juststruttin on whether or not she decided he was pure SFH or not.

I wonder if she still has him and how he grew out?

Over the weekend we candled our 21 SFH eggs in the incubator. 17 are definitely developing, one was a little hard to tell. I'll check again closer to the end of this week when it will be really apparent. Of course the one that is questionable is the one my daughter found. I told her if it didn't have a chick in it, she could pick another egg to be "hers."

Great seeing the updated pictures, Leigh! Your little leopard lady is lovely.
