Hi there,

Still around but busy. I have a question about SFH's. Are they fliers? Right not they're still indoors but I wonder are they fliers. My Orp, Dels and EE's are outside in the fenced in yard. 4' high. Wil the SFH's jump this fence?

Yes, they are fliers! They reg. fly over my 6 foot fence. They fly into the fence too.

They absolutely can do that. My pullet, Sophie, will fly up and land on my arm when I hold it straight out. I'm 5' 10" so my arm is about 5' up.

Opps! I'm new at this (can you tell : )

Accidently deleted my text regarding the photos in my last post.

I have a total of 8 SFH. Wonder if you all can hazard guesses on the five I posted photos of.

I'm thinking I may

only have one hen. I'm hoping # 1 photo is also a hen, what do you all think?
#2 probably a roo.
#3&4. are the same bird. This one is big like the ones I'm almost certain are roos but comb isn't very large and see no wattles forming. Hmmm?
#5. Maybe a hen?
#6. Red & Wht. I'm hoping is a roo. looks like it to me.
The one below I'm 99% sure is a hen, smallest and meeker.

I will say that I swore my crested hen was a cockeral, up until she squat for me, only because her comb was bigger. I definitely haven't had enough experience with these as chicks to hazard a "good" guess yet, sorry. Hopefully I will be hatching some of my own in a few weeks if their coop ever comes in
