Swedish Flower Hen Thread

O.K. it has taken me awhile to get my young'uns to stand still in proper light long enough to snap some pictures. I kept trying to bribe them with mealworms, but my older chickens kept commandeering them.

Not the best photos, but here goes.

Guess which of these are NOT pure SFH:

PeanutButter:

My guess (based upon tail carriage, body length and a less-upright stance) is that PeanutButter is not pure SFH... but what GREAT coloring!! A very pretty bird indeed! My other guess would be Earthstripe based on a lower, rounder tail (from what I can see in the pics).

What are they crossed with... cochin? I'm sure you already mentioned what the cross was in a prior post - I'll have to go back through and look.

I'm afraid I don't have any SFH egg pictures (yet) but here are some pics of my little (and young) flock of 6 SFH - 5 pullets and one sweet, friendly cockerel. (You can click the images to see the larger version.)

KYT, thanks for the pictures of the eggs! I love a nice brown egg, doesn't have to be the dark brown, but I like the browns. Ok, I loove the name Peanut Butter! It can't be Peanut Butter! I say Blossom, no wait, maybe Maya? First time I've heard that name Maya for a pet other than my daughter's dog. She named her Maya because she went to Mexico and saw the Mayan ruins.

My kids named him Peanut Butter because they thought he smelled like peanut butter when he was a chick.

We had a Maya (actually I spelled it the Swedish way - Maja) in our first hatch, too, but he turned into a Magnus!

Yes, they all have yellow legs. My older birds all have yellow legs, although a few are little lighter, and my black hen has some black on her legs.

BTW, I'll wait a couple days to reveal the answer so others have a chance to play.

I'm guessing Blossom. I have to say, I'm completely dumbfounded!! It would be really hard for anyone to know which birds are pure and which aren't.
Here's a pic of one of my "pure" birds (seller still insists they're pure  )
