I wonder if its the way they lay in the egg for the last week or so growing and the hatching out taking too long for them so the legs get what my granny would call "stoved"  meaning they are stuck and can't do much till the muscles relax completly and then they have to learn how to use them.   One of life's little ??????  Hummmmmmmm

Perhaps. She was the last of the first three I hatched, and she hatched way late. Like I had just about given up hope.

I put 6 SFH in lockdown this morning. Fingers crossed. I would love to not have to rely on shipped eggs but hatch my own eggs. And it would be so fun to trade eggs with other lovers of the breed for new genetics with no pressure, kwim.

I called the PO this morning when I took my son to school my eggs were in. I went and picked them up after they opened at 8. The box was in lots better shape and the eggs were packaged better! They're resting on my counter right now. Will candle them and put them in the bator tonight.

Our SFHen eggs came in today also. They are in the egg crates resting and like you will put them in the bator tonight. 20 gray and black spash ones. The box was in excelent shape complete with label that said Fragile Live embryos do not Xray Live Embryos Please protect from heat and cold all over the box everywhere... big note to call me when they came in I will pick up 6 am I got the call to come get them ... not sure if the post office's that they came tho read the labels re Xray and protect from heat and cold tho. Guess we will find out in 21 days Mine only came from about 3 hrs from where we live tho so maybe they didn't get too shook up.

the seller still didn't label the outside of the box. Oh well, hopefully i get some hatched in 21 days! 2 of my 20 were cracked. looked like they got dropped before shipping, no telling tho. Only 3 detached air cells. I put wax on the broken ones and am hoping for the best.
