When I was little, one of my teeth came lose. Of course, I didn't want anyone to help get it out, so it hung around for days. Finally, it got inflamed from me messing with it. So, my uncle tied a piece of thread to it and then tied the string to the living room door knob. He said this will make it feel better. Slammed the door, nothing happened, because I stepped forward! He said he didn't think I was smart enough to do that..... He is still my least favorite uncle ......

just the one toe gone the rest still look like dried meal worms. He seems to be in just as much pain as when it first happened. I returned him to the coop but he mostly lays with his toes tucked under him. This is taking way longer then i would of thought. I feel selfish for keeping him alive but he is the best rooster i have ever had.

2 toes on one foot and one on the other gone so far. he will lose them all but he has a stump left where the toe was so not a total lose. maybe 1/4th to 1/2 in. left on each one. I have to say this is taking way longer then i expected and I wouldnt do it again unless it was a bird i just couldnt live without. He has and still is going through pain. He has come so far now i wouldnt stop helping him just because of him going through so much already. The pain doesnt stop because it is drying up. his toes are still swelled as well. I continue with the baby aspirin but once a day not 2 because with them coming off comes a little blood. Also if too much of the pain is gone he gets too active for his own good and i cant very well tell him to take it easy. He has lost some weight but not enough to hurt him. still laying around with his feet tucked under. I wonder if he will still be so nice when he is well ? he is the only rooster now for my 15 or so hens.

First post was march 30th today is april 25th. last toe fell yesterday with a bit of blood. just red really. still swelled but on the road to recovery now. I am glad i saved him . he is a very nice rooster. He did suffer some though. as a lot of us do i guess. but, he will have quality of life with his girls and all he can eat buffet.
