Sweet Buttercup died today :(

One of my precious blue runner ducks just passed away.
She was only 3 1/2
She had been through a badly broken leg last year and 6 weeks of recovery including tube feeding and meds every day for weeks.
But she pulled through and did great all year! until last week.
She re-injured the same leg (other ducks trampled her accidently)
I brought her in for 3 days and did epsom salt soaks and gave her vitamins
She seemed to be all better and walked fine again so I put her back outside
But I didnt notice she wasnt eating
until today she was hiding in corner of the yard
I picked her up and she didnt even try to get away
Then I realized she was getting too thin
Brought her in gave poultry cell
put her down while mixing up a tube feeding
when I came back she was gone

Sad for you and buttercup. She looks like a sweet girl. You did your best and importantly, you loved her. That's all you can do. Let the happy memories come forth as she will live on in your memories
