Sweet PDZ vs Zeolite

Do any of you budget minded folks happen to know if Sweet PDZ is any different in composition to the zeolite that one can purchase as a soil conditioner? I can purchase the soil conditioner easily here in Canada but Sweet PDZ will run me about $75 for a 40lb bag of powdered, not granular. Sometimes being Canadian can be very frustrating.

What are you using it for? Plain old barn lime is cheap for drying out and using on poop boards.

Poop boards. The challenge for me is that if I'm going to end up with it in my garden the last thing I need is lime. Our soil is already very alkaline

Yes I know that PDZ is zeolite but it looks to me like there are several classes of zeolite and I am not sure if the one used as a garden amendment is the same as something like Sweet PDZ, that is what I'm asking. I have some of the garden amendment so if I could use it on a poop board that would be great. I can get it for about $14 for 10kg (20lbs) but I'm looking at $75 for 40lb for the fancy branded PDZ stuff.

I suspect it is the same thing. Even the Horse Fresh that you mention says that it can be used as a garden amendment.

Yes, perhaps. I have to figure out where my bag is in the shed. It's a pretty low tech bag - I can't even find a website for the product I have.

Also does not appear to be available here in Alberta...it is seriously the story of my life. I am constantly looking for products that I cannot find here.

I suspect it’s the same, too, but who knows? Maybe the expensive stuff has other ingredients.
