I have seen all types of this, do I need to get the specific chicken coop kind or will any of it work the same way and still be safe for chickens?

I use the horse stall refresher from Tractor Supply and it works great in my coop! It’s about $10 for 25 pounds, I think.

I use ag lime. Not caustic and usable around chickens. I put some on the floor when I clean the coop and cover with straw.

I use Sweet PDZ Granules for horses it's the same stuff as the smaller bag labeled for chickens but 1/2 the price per pound. The do make a powder so look out for that I don't think you want to use a powder.

Granules are less dusty...tho not dustless.
I use a thin layer on my poop boards.

Speaking of Sweet PDZ does anyone to a complete change out of the PDZ? From time to time I do a complete sift to remove smaller debris...
