hope i am in the right place. cleaning the area up were the coop going to be . the sweetgum make a lot of shade for the coop and they drop alot of balls are they bad for the chickens? info will be helpful.

My chickens never paid them any attention. I used to rake up and dump wheelbarrow loads of sweetgum leaves and seedballs to dump in the henyard. They'd spend all day scratching through them looking for whatever they could find and they'd eventually decay like everything else.

Yes, they are bad for the chickens..... if they hit 'em in the head when falling!
