Aloha, I adopted all my chickens, actually they came with the home we bought. It's been a learning lesson this year. Unfortunately I just lost one hen to egg binding, I should of been more aware of her behavior I also have a hen that has Maricks disease so researching a sling for her, since her legs don't work. She is tho eating and drinking and chabbering so just keep letting her live, a sling should help!

Mahalo for joining us at Backyard chickens. Sorry for your misfortune. As long as your girl is eating, drinking, chatting those are favorable signs. Survivors of Mareks, will be carriers for life but, some recover enough to have a decent life. You may want to post on one of the Mareks threads to see what might boost her chances. Maybe some vitamin or ???supplements.

Congratulations on your wonderful flock! And I'm sorry about your hen having Marek's but she sounds quite energetic!!

G’Day from down under Sweetpea Welcome!

Sorry to hear of your loss and Marek’s.

You might want to also pop in and say hello on your local thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you ‘Find your State’s thread.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
