It hasn't rained like expected, I haven't gone to the store for the oil and potatoes yet but I will tomorrow... I really really need to because the toe is swelling more and more and it is even starting to turn blue and purple in spots.
How would I wrap that spot (the middle of her foot) without squeezing her toes together? Does anyone have pictures? Should I wrap it or buy (or make) some of the little duck booties?
Thanks guys!!!
Is it possible for you to post another picture of the foot with the swelling? In the first one I am not seeing a spot like a normal bumble would have and sorry if this has been covered already, I just skimmed the posts. I will go back to read , but I'd really like to see a picture of the foot.

Do you have any betadine? Or even the iodine? This is what I would do, I'd use a small CoolWhip container filled 1/3 of the way with very warm water. Not hot. I'd put in a good amount of betadine, so that the water was fairly dark with it. take a couple of paper towels and fold them so they will fit in the bottom or even a sponge and put them or it into the bottom of the bowl. Now I'd be ready to put the duck's foot in. Right onto the towels or sponge. The idea of this is to keep the skin off of the bottom of the bowl so the medicine can actually get to it. Try and let her soak for 15 minutes or until the water is cold. Good luck with this....I feel lucky if I can get a good 10 mins. of soaking. Dry the foot, paint it with iodine and put her in a tote with clean shavings, whatever. Later I would check her foot again and probably do another soaking and another application of the iodine. Don't use creams, ointments or bandages. Just use the plain iodine, I happen to have the colorless one and results have been very, very good.

I went to the store and bought tea tree oil, potatoes and drawing salve. Is the drawing salve okay for her (to put on the foot)? I do have iodine. She is in her cage with a blanket over it so it will be shady and cool inside. She has fresh hay, water, and food in there with her.
What do I do first? E.S. soak and tea tree oil? Or warm water and Iodine?

I would try the iodine and water soak first. The tea tree oil sounds like it would be better for overnight. I am hesitant about using it full strength, perhaps the person who recommended it can check in or you can pm her and verify if she used it full strength. And you could still dilute it. But try the iodine and water soak is what I would do.

There was no open sores so I didn't know how much iodine would help. I let her swim in her pool for a minute, soaked her feet and put the oil on it (I diluted it 4:1 with olive oil). Then put her away again but not before I got a couple pictures for you guys. You can see a tiny, tiny spot in the middle of the swelling but you can also see the blue and purple in the bottom picture.

Just my 2 cents but I don't see bumble, it actually looks more like what my ganders foot looked like, the swelling is in the same place too. he also had some swelling on top of his foot, I soaked his foot in warm Epsom salt water for 3 days and also soaked in iodine /water mixed like weak tea. after 4 days swelling was going down. I had some tricide-neo so I soaked his foot in that too. I am now thinking he may have stepped on a bee since he never had the tell tale blk scab. How long has this been going on PetDuck?
