Swelling post bumble removal

I removed my first bumble on Sunday. I read the forums and got the plug out and wrapped it up and treated with betadine. We have been doing a daily soak of Epsom salt water and then betadine and re wrapping with gauze and vet wrap. There is still some swelling now 5 days later? The wound has completely closed up My mom was thinking maybe I need to make a new clean cut because all the infection didn't get out or there is new infection. Last night there was a small hole with oozing which we soaked and then let air dry so to drain (no wrap). I'm feeling super frustrated becuase I did the surgery and removed the hard kernel and there was a lot of blood but we thought the wound would heal up nicely like the online tutorials. Anyone had to reopen and retreat ? What am I doing wrong?

Some people have to reopen, but it could just be scar tissue causing the swelling. Does it feel hot to the touch?
